U.S. Reported to Assist Neighbouring States in Steering Arms to Syrian Opposition

A group of C.I.A. officers in the south of Turkey is reported to assist allies of the Syrian oppositionĀ in deciding which opposition fighters will receive arms from neighbouring states. These arms are reportedly paid for by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Furthermore, the C.I.A. is said to share intelligence information with the Syrian opposition.
